Hello everyone, and welcome to Oramae!
My name is Niki and I am a Greek filmmaker, author, and PhD Law researcher.
I am currently a doctoral student at Brunel University London, where my research focuses on ‘’The Universal Right to Dignity: A Critical Discussion on the Creation and Use of the LGBTQ+ Image in World Cinema.‘’ Alongside my academic work, I am studying filmmaking at Raindance Film School and acting at City Lit in London.
My passion for filmmaking began in 2023, when I directed my first short film, Dear Diary. What started as a project to create an acting showreel unexpectedly opened the door to a new creative path, one that reshaped how I saw storytelling, cinema, and myself as an artist.
My first novel, Déjà Vu, a deeply personal contemporary Greek tragedy, became the true catalyst behind Oramae. Before it existed as a novel, Dèjà Vu began its life as a screenplay, written with the vision of one day becoming a feauture film.
While navigating the challenges of developing my own feauture film, particularly the barriers to funding and access, I realised that these struggles were not mine alone. That realisation led to the creation of Oramae: a space born from the belief that creativity thrives when we come together.
Oramae exists as a collective vision. A place where we create, collaborate, adn support one another in bringing meaningful stories to life.
